Plein air painters today. We went to St Andrews Norwich and I did this Watercolour. 7.5"x 5.5
It was lovely, sunny and warm.

Did this watercolour in the studio today. Its 7 x 5 inches. Norwich School Chapel and School office. I tried to put some of the looseness of the previous sketches into this finished painting.

Plein air Wed group met today at the Forum, Norwich.
We sat at the back of the War Memorial in front of the city hall.
Usual pen and wash sketch of either upper or lower Goat Lane!
The sun is very low, casting huge long shadows.
It was so low it went behind St Peter Mancroft Church tower for about 20 minutes as it moved across the sky, at the temperature dropped suddenly.

Plein air painters Wed meeting at the Forum. I sat on a bench outside the Bell Hotel, at the bottom of Timber Hill, Norwich
I did this sketch in pen and wash, on cartridge paper.
It was a fairly drab grey December day. So I enhanced it a bit with a wet path and reflections of the figures. I much prefer a bright sunny day, so I can get stuck into some shadows.

and gave it a wash of watercolour.
Difficult as it was cold and not drying too well.
